Happy New Year to everyone!! 2015 was a very exciting and busy year for me, as you know I earned my teaching Certification with Judy Niemeyer in May and taught a lot of classes during the summer and fall. Over the Christmas break I’ve been busy trying to complete more samples for upcoming classes, so many quilts, so little time……… Judy Niemeyer and her company www.Quiltworx.com are publishing so many new patterns it is very difficult to keep up. Visit her website and click on new releases and upcoming releases to see some of the new patterns coming out!
I’ve really enjoyed presenting Trunk Shows to many of the local guilds this fall and early new year, if your guild would like me to come to a meeting and show off my samples please contact me.
I am always looking for class suggestions, is there a pattern you would like to learn? A technique you are struggling with, please let me know and I will try to offer something for you.
My first Technique of the Month Class, Mariner’s Compass, is going strong, a group of 11 ladies are diligently working on their units every month, I can hardly wait to show you all photos of their finished quilts in the Spring, its been so much fun watching the quilts come together in all the different colors. I will start the second Technique of the Month, Paradise in Bloom in the fall, stay tuned for dates.
I will be teaching “Prickly Pinecones Tree Skirt” Saturday, April 9, at Bow Bench Retreat. Saturday April 23 I will be teaching “My 2 Baby Sisters” which is a great beginner class, but everyone is welcome to join in. Contact me for more information and to register.
The Charm Element Series will run again beginning in March, this class has been very popular and I look forward to teaching it again. This is an opportunity to learn one foundation paper pieced unit in a 2 hour class, the $25 fee includes all the supplies and use of all the tools to “try out” paper piecing without the cost of committing to making an entire quilt.
Every Wednesday is a Sew day at Bow Bench Retreat, I will be available from 10 – 4 to assist you with any of your projects, the cost is $25 please bring your own lunch, refreshments and snacks are provided. Cheryl continues to host Knitting night from 7-9 every Wednesday as well, so you can sew all day, and knit or crochet in the evening.
The 12 Hour Creating on the Bow dates continue to be very popular, one Saturday a month you are invited to join us from 10 – 10 and spend the day doing whatever you love, $25 for your own table, check calendar for dates and reserve your table today.
“Like” Bow Bench Retreat on Facebook for updates and information on new classes and additional sew days.
I look forward to seeing all of you in upcoming classes and sew dates,
Happy quilting…….
Nancy
