I am very excited to have Ana Buzzalino coming to teach a Colour Workshop at Bow Bench Retreat. Ana is the 2019 Quilter of Distinction at the Heritage Park Festival of Quilts, May 25 & 26.
Ana Buzzalino is a fiber artist and quilt instructor living in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Ana has been a teacher on a variety of quilting techniques for the past 30 years. Some of the her workshops have been on Machine Quilting with focus on free-motion quilting, specializing in feather and filler designs, and New York Beauties Blocks quilts. Ana’s present focus is on Art Quilting, incorporating different elements of surface design, such as fabric painting, mono-printing, screen printing and hand-dyeing.
Ana is a frequent contributor to Quilting Arts Magazine and Quilting Arts TV. Her work has also appeared in the American Quilter’s Society Magazine, in A Needle Pulling Thread, and in Modern Patchwork, as well as in 101 Patchwork Projects and Quilts and Quilt Scene. Ana has also worked on 2 workshop DVDs with Interweave/F&W.
Ana’s quilts have won several awards at local and national shows, and have been juried into major International shows.
Ana will be teaching a Colour and Colour Wheel Workshop. Students will receive a booklet of information about colour, hue, value, basic colour combinations, etc. and learn about colour in a relaxed manner. Working with paper to complete simple exercises will help understand the material provided. A fabric colour wheel will be made with the fabric provided in the kit.
This will be a great introduction to Ana before having her come back in the fall to teach Paintstiks on Fabric and Fabric Painting, dates to be determined.
Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to take a class from an internationally recognized Quilt Artist.Ana Buzzalino find her on facebook and instagram http://anabuzzalino.com/
