DESCRIPTION: You’ve seen all the photos and pattern on Pinterest\, so lets learn to make our own jelly roll placemat! Join Tara Sinclair of UhOh Creations as she teaches you how to make a placemat\, using techniques you will be able to apply to making a Jelly Roll Rug. We will be using strips of fabric and batting to create a long strand that will be coiled together to form a round or oval shape when completed. We will work with top stitching the long strip then zig zagging our strips together\, keeping it flat. Tara will share her tips and tricks to adjust our work as we go to create a successful project\, the first time!! Quilting experience not necessary\, all you need is basic knowledge of running your sewing machine. \n2 Class options: \nSaturday May 4 – 9:00 am – 1:00 pm \nSaturday May 4 – 1:30 – 5:30 \nClass Fee: $25 \nPreparation for the Placemat Class \nInstructor: Tara Sinclair of UhOh Creations \nProject Size: 14” Diameter \nClass Description \nThe placemat is a take on the Jelly Roll Rug design\, converted into a circle and downsized for a quick and easy project. \nPrerequisites \n\n  You must be comfortable topstitching at 1/8” – 1/4″\n  Understanding the standard sewing features of your machine is a must\, when in doubt\, bring extra presser feet\, and your manualSupplies\n□  Sewing Machine\, power cord and foot pedal with manual – should be capable of doing zig zag stitching (if you have a plate that only allows straight stitching\, you will need to change it out for one that permits zig zag)\n□  Presser feet for your sewing machine\no Standard foot – must be capable of doing zig zag stitching (if your regular foot has just one holefor the needle to do a straight stitch\, please bring a foot that has an open section so that you can zig zag);o Stitch in the ditch foot (Optional)\n□  Sewing machine extension table (Optional)\n□  A New jean needle for your machine (90/14 or 100/16)\n□  Thread to coordinate with fabric & filled bobbin\n□  Jean‐a‐ma‐jig or hump jumper (Optional)\n□  Wonderclips (or binder clips) (Optional)\n□  Seam Ripper\n□  Fabric Scissors\n\nPre‐Class Preparation\n\nCut your fabric into 6 strips that are 2” wide x width of fabric.\nCut your batting into strips that are 1” wide – you will need the same amount as you have of fabric.\n\nNo pattern is required for this class. \nCopyright ©UhOh Creations 2018 – This document has been produced for the attendees of the Placemat class taught by UhOh Creations. DESCRIPTION:T-Shirt Quilt Class \nDate: Tuesday May 21\, June 4\, June 11 \nTime:  6:00 pm – 9:00 pm  \nLocation:  Bow Bench Retreat \nCost:  $75 for 3 classes \nA T-shirt quilt is a unique way to turn memories into a keepsake to be used and treasured.  In this 3 class series  you will learn the techniques to make a T- shirt Quilt\, including choosing t-shirts\, planning the layout\, finding supplies\, stabilizing your t-shirts and of course how to sew them together.  \nThis class is suitable for beginners making their first quilt\, the only requirement is that you know how to run a sewing machine.  \nBring your box of t-shirts to the first class and we will sort through them and start planning.  \nBook\, tools\, notions\, and interfacing will be available to purchase at the first class\, after the initial planning class you may want to purchase additional fabrics to use as sashing in between your blocks\, depending on the layout you choose\, but it is not necessary to do this prior to the first class.  \nMaterials and Supplies: \n\n T- Shirts :  the number of t shirts will depend on the layout and design you choose\, so bring all you have to the first class and we will go from there.\n Fusible interfacing :  fusible woven interfacing for back of t-shirts to give stability to tricky knit fabric\, so your T-shirts won’t stretch or pucker as you sew them together.  This is available to purchase at Bow Bench\, the amount will depend on how many t- shirts you use.\nSewing machine in good working order\, basic sewing kit\, including thread\, needles\, scissors\, (you will not need this for the first class we will only cut and plan at this class)\nRotary cutter & Rulers\, its much easier to cut your t-shirts and measure using a rotary cutter and ruler\, if you don’t have one they are available to use at Bow Bench Retreat \nPattern Book $33\, available to purchase at Bow Bench (optional depending on the layout you choose)
